Each single print measures approximately 7 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches long.

We are pleased to offer a lovely selection of rare pochoir illustrations from the magazine Tres Parisien, under the artistic direction of G.P. Joumard, published between 1920 and 1936.  Designed as a journal to appeal to the women of Paris, full of Haute Couture high fashion plates and articles on the collections, designers, and patterns.

Here in the so called “forgotten years” of the 1920’s we see the art that evokes the whole gamut of that fabulously creative era in France, from the Impressionists and the Fauves to the Cubists, Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau & Deco periods.

The extravagantly vivid colours of the prints were created by the “pochoir” process, wherein single layers of color were added by hand to a lithograph using a stencil, in a precursor of the silk screening technique which is now widely used for art prints.

Many of the works of the fashion designers of the day were featured, including Jane Regny, Vera Borea, Jacques Heim, Revillon, Philippe et Gaston, Louis O'Rossen, Elsa Schiaparelli, Charles Worth, Madeleine Cheruit, Premet, Lataur, Weil, Jean Patou, Simone Gray and Lucile Paray.

Suffice it to say, that these prints are scarce jewels, suitable for any modern lady’s boudoir and more, with a breathtaking vibrance of colour.  The plates are on a light card stock paper, which is quite toned.
