Zacharie Chatelain, 1733. First impressions of the Picart Plates. Folio size, 152 pages. Engraved title, typographic titles and 60 full-page copperplate engravings by Bernard Picart. Rebacked with beautiful new spine and retaining the period mottled calf sides (with repairs to the corners). The volume is contains 63 superb prints on strong, soft white chain lined paper in excellent condition with no faults. The copper plates are of a breathtaking beauty and elegance, representing the height of 18th century engraving .
