These delightful woodblock prints of the world's most successful species are by Tadashige Nishida (b. 1942) and published by Uchida in Kyoto. After studying at Chiba University in Japan, Nishida travelled to America & Spain to continue his work and presents a unique synthesis of western and Japanese styles in his woodblock prints. The colors are vivid, often incorporating gold and silver pigments in the backgrounds.
