The Instructive Picture Book, or Lessons from the Vegetable World 1857

This charming book was by the Victorian novelist Charlotte Mary Yonge, author of "The Heir of Redclyffe" and "The Herb of the Field". It is now quite scarce. The hand colored plates are by Robert M. Stark, Fellow of The Botanical and Royal Physical Societies, Edinburgh, author of "A Popular History of British Mosses.". Each print measures about 16 1/4 by 12 3/4 inches, with the top and bottom margins larger than shown on the scans. The condition in excellent, with vibrant hand coloring and a central fold as issued.
