We are pleased to offer prints from the 1888 edition
of The Rose Garden by William Paul. This enduring
classic was first published in 1848 stretching to ten
editions & is now reproduced in facsimile form.
It is a scarce work and the roses are so velvety &
have such depth on the page. They are a delight to
behold. The text provides a wealth of information on all
aspects of rose cultivation & exhibition. The first part
of the complete work contains the history of the rose
with many hints on cultivation & numerous wood
engravings. The second part contains colored and black &
white illustrations of the most desirable European roses
of the mid 1800’s.
William Paul was a skilled horticulturist & writer
whose talents were discovered early on by John Claudius
Loudon, a prominent horticulturalist & garden planner of
the day.
Each print measures approximately 9 1/4 inches by 11 3/4
