We are delighted to offer copperplate engravings from this extremely rare 18th century children's book by Samuel John Galton, The Natural History of Birds. This work was issued both hand colored and black and white, so we are fortunate to have the first edition with original hand coloring. Each print measures 4 by 6 ½ inches and we have accepted a greater than usual degree of paper toning and offset due to the extreme scarcity of the work. Most prints are accompanied by the descriptive text. It was a work available to only the most privileged of families, so it is with great pleasure we offer prints at this relatively modest price!
