Myrtus tomentosa LJF9 $45
Single plates measure approximately 6 by
9 1/4 inches
Jardin Fleuriste was
published starting in 1851, at a time in Europe when the race to
discover new plants and bring new cultivars to a never
satiated public was in full swing. Charles Lemaire, a prominent botanist & professor, collaborated on many of the seminal works of
the day. The brilliant chromolithographs are hand
finished with gum arabic and are very
bright.
We are currently offering a selection of prints from
the four volumes of Jardine Flerist 1851-1854. Each single print measures 6" by
9 1/4", the larger fold-out prints are 9 1/4" by 12
1/2". The paper is creamy, with some edge
toning and a very few fox marks. All our prints are
original antique prints, and these prints are about a
150 years old.
