We
are very pleased to present this wonderful selection of
prints from the “German Butterflies, with
consideration of all the genera of Europe”. These are
rare and beautiful images from this very scarce work on
butterflies by Dr J. C. Kayser.
The
work has 152 hand colored engravings of the utmost
beauty and delicacy. As aficionados of butterfly &
moths prints, we consider these amongst the best, with
vivid colors that truly capture the evanescence and
fragility of these fabulous insects. Many plates depict
the caterpillars & feeding plants & merge the scientific
& the decorative aspects in a rare symphony of beauty.
