This is a beautiful hemisphere celestial map showing both northern and southern skies. The upper left shows night and day on the earth & the upper right the phases of the moon. Five spheres below show the monthly movements of the moon, the planetary hypotheses of Tycho Brahe, Corpernicus,Ptolemy, and the annual orbit of the sun and the seasons. The condition excellent, with old hand colouring, measuring about 25 inches by 21 1/4 inches. This map was made by George Matthaus Seutter (1678-1757)
