Each print measures approximately 5
3/4
inches by 9 1/4 inches.
We are pleased to offer prints from "The Natural
History of British Birds," Edward Donovan’s great work on
birds, published in 1791. These volumes are particularly prized for the artistry and composition of each print, and the beauty and intensity of the fine hand coloring.
There is little or no foxing, with characteristic strong plate marks on Whatman paper that is a soft aged white. Some
prints bear Whatman watermarks. The photos are very accurate, so please review carefully.
Each print measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide by 9 1/4 inches
long and is accompanied by the descriptive text and a copy of the title
page. The condition of these prints is remarkable for a work that is over 200 years old.
