Paul Jones Flora Magnifica & Flora Superba

Paul Jones (1921-1997) is a contemporary Australian artist who has painted these beautiful botanical illustrations in a manner very reminiscent of Thornton’s Temple of Flora. His paintings are widely held in museum collections and included in several interesting exhibits linked below, at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford & the Smithsonian in Washington DC. The two magnificent works from which we offer superb, reasonably priced folio prints each have a foreword by William Blunt and were published in 1971 & 1976 as companion works. This Flora Superba is edition 112 of 406, the Flora Magnifica numbered 373 of 506. The prints are high-quality lithographs on rag paper in vibrant color and are a wonderful size at 14 1/2 inches by 20 3/4 inches. They represent a continuation of a very long tradition of botanical illustration and are superbly decorative large prints.
