Snake-Mouth MEH37 $45
Each print measures approximately 7 inches wide by 10 1/4 inches

We are please to offer a selection of prints from the Native Flowers and Ferns of the United States by Thomas Meehan, published by L. Prang and Company, Boston 1879. This work of chromolithographed prints after paintings by Alouis Lunzer is an early attempt at creating an illustrated catalog of American plants.

Thomas Meehan was born in Great Britain and emigrated to the United States in 1848, where he found success, serving as a member in Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, working as editor for Gardener's Monthly, and founding a popular Germantown nursery.

Each chromolithogrpahed print measures approximately 7 inches wide by 10 1/4 inches long on strong paper, light creamy in color with edge toning. There is no foxing or text offset, except where noted, and each print is enhanced with gum arabic.
